One of my hobbies is to read on business and self-improvement books. I do it because I feel that I need to better myself, to constantly learn, to push myself more and more. I feel that in so many ways, I’m behind. I’m not smart enough, rich enough, X enough so I have to work at it.

Anyhow among the books that I’ve read, my two favorite books on personal finances are The Millionaire Next Door and Poor Dad Rich Dad.

The Millionaire Next Door: This book talks about what is takes to become financially successful. It asks questions like, who is the typical millionaire, what do they do, where they shop, how they invest, how they got rich and what is their secret to success. I won’t spoil it for you but it’s quite an interesting read.

Poor Dad Rich Dad: One of the few books that changed my life. I don’t quite remember how I read this book. I think it was because I was at the book store for some reason and was just curious or it was on the best seller list on Amazon and I thought it was be a fun read. Nevertheless, the book talks about 2 families. One family was the typical, work hard, go to school, get a job at a nice big organization and the other family had their own business. It compared and contrasted the differences between both families. The story is skewed a bit towards the more entrepreneur family but the points he makes are quite valid. It’s food for thought. Makes you think. Read it, it’ll leave an impression.
