Eating at Au Luc Vietnamese Vegetarian

So anyhow.. we had an impromptu dinner with Stephanie, Preeti, Caleb, Ko and myself at this vietnamese vegetarian resturant (and of course Vietnamese desert afterwards). Anyhow, food was pretty darn good. I would rate it as one of the better vegatarian places that I’ve been to. Would I go again? Definately if I had a vegetarian in the group. If not… ehh…. maybe… depends if I had too much meat for the week :-)

Dinner at Chez Stephanie

Stephanie invited me over to dinner with her friend and roommate today. How cool of her (and much better than me buying some food and taking it home)! So we started with a salad with brie and caramelized walnuts followed by 2 kinds of fish with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Desert was a cake from Cheesecake, ice cream and mochi. Let’s just say that we know how to live large (food wise anyhow).

After dinner, Preeti was soooooo cool as a host and she’s gave me some very flattering comments [blush]. Anyhow… very very cool. Great food (which reminds me, Stephanie is an amazing cook…. lets just say I’m surprised) and great company. Thanks for the wonderful evening!

Wired 13.12: Who’s Afraid of Google? Everyone.

Should I have worked for Google when I had the chance?

Wired 13.12: Who’s Afraid of Google? Everyone.
It seems no one is safe: Google is doing Wi-Fi; Google is searching inside books; Google has a plan for ecommerce.

Of course, Google has always wanted to be more than a search engine. Even in the early days, its ultimate goal was extravagant: to organize the world’s information. High-minded as that sounds, Google’s ever-expanding agenda has put it on a collision course with nearly every company in the information technology industry: Amazon.com, Comcast, eBay, Yahoo!, even Microsoft.

Food for the soul - Hanging out in Santa Monica / Venice

I just wanted to write something down for my memories. I had an excellent day out with someone I just met. We had some lunch in Venice, went to the the beach with her dogs Tootsie and Toffee and just walked them around, hung out at her place and also had a great dinner. It’s been a while since I haven’t gotten bored or had other things on my mind. I really had a good time.

Very cool illusion

Very cool illusion
If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, you will only see one color, pink. If you stare at the black in the center, the moving dot turns to green. Now, concentrate on the black in the center of the picture. After a short period of time, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see a green dot rotating if you’re lucky! It’s amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don’t disappear. This should be proof enough, we don’t always see what we think we see.
